Part-Time Paint Department Associate

Key responsibilities include:

• Determine customer’s needs by asking open-ended questions

• Assist customers with finding all items needed to complete their paint and décor projects

• Tint and mix paint and stain

• Colour matching paint from a customer’s sample 

• Process special orders for non-stock or out of stock items

• Relieve as cashier when necessary  

• Check inventory on shelves and restock product as required 

• Completing maintenance of paint equipment, filling tint, calibrating and cleaning mixer 

• Build special displays and signage for sales, promotions and other special events

• Supporting senior sales staff as requested 

 

Candidates should have the following qualifications: 

• Enjoys working in a creative team environment 

• Friendly and helpful attitude toward customers

• A commitment to service and excellence and customer satisfaction 

• Willingness to learn 

• Cash Management 

• Excellent communication skills

• Exceptional organization ability, high attention to detail and ability to multitask

Full-Time Truck Driver / Lumber Yard Associate

Key responsibilities include:

• Assist in loading and unloading merchandise and materials 

• Delivering and picking up lumber supplies at job sites, vendors and other locations in a timely manner

• Operating freight handling equipment in a safe manner  

• Maintenance and operation of company vehicles and equipment

• Verification of administrative paperwork and delivery documents 

• Assist customers in the lumber yard  

 

Candidates should have the following qualifications:

• Hold a valid Class 1 or 3 Drivers License

• Air Brake endorsement

• Clean Drivers Abstract 

• Can drive Standard Transmission

• Physically Fit

• Customer Service experience

• Ability to work co-operatively in a team atmosphere 

• Flexible work schedule  

 


Full-Time Customer Service Associate

Key responsibilities include:

• Working with clients to assess their needs and perform counter sales

• Help customers find products in the store 

• Create and process special orders 

• Ensure delivery and completion of sale occurs

• Provide first contact on the phone for clients

• Back up Cashiers when needed 

• Assist senior staff with their purchase orders

 

Candidates should have the following qualifications:

• Customer Service Experience

• Enjoys working in a team environment

• Strong time management

• Detail orientated 

• Cash Management

• Computer, math and communication skills

• Plumbing, electrical, and building material knowledge 

• Weekend Availability is a must 

 


Full-Time Contractor Sales Associate

Key responsibilities include:

• Work with clients to assess their needs and perform counter sales

• Problem-solve customer issues and ensure they get the right product for their project

• Create quotes for clients for LBM projects such as decks, sheds, fencing, roofing, windows and door packages 

• Create and process special orders ensuring that delivery and completion of sale occurs 

• Provide first contact on the phone for clients

• Assist senior staff with their purchase orders 

• Support company policy and procedures and make sure they are being carried out correctly

 

Candidates should have the following qualifications:

• Lumber and building material knowledge

• Customer Service Experience 

• Enjoys working in a team environment

• Strong time management

• Detail orientated 

• Cash Management

• Computer, math and communication skills

 


Home Installs - Subcontractor

  

Are you an experienced contractor? Then we’d love to chat with you. Merritt Home Installs is expanding their team and are looking for a subcontractor to install kitchen cabinets and countertops, flooring, tile, windows, and more.

 

Why subcontract with us? We find the jobs for you, supply the materials, and take care of all invoicing! We’re a busy Home Installs department within the Merritt Home Hardware Building Centre and we service Merritt and the Nicola Valley.
