The Merritt Home Hardware Building Centre is a proud member of the Canadian Home Hardware group.
Our roots run deep in the community and owners Peter Moyes and Fred Riley - who were both born and raised in Merritt - are active supporters of organizations like the Merritt Centennials and the Walk of Stars Society.
1975 marks the year that Peter's family business Seyom Building Supplies became a major player in town by purchasing Bob Magel Construction Supplies.
Fred joined the team in 1976 and after tumultous economic times in the early 1980s he became the store's manager in 1983 and still holds the reigns firmly.
During the 80s and 90s the store changed labels several times, going from a Castle Building Store to Ace Hardware and Beaver Lumber. In 2001 the Merritt store finally found a permanent home with the Home Hardware group.
After an expansion by 5000 sqft. in 2006 and an addition to the yard and drive-through shed in 2008, Merritt Home Hardware Building Centre reached its current size at the Voght Street location in downtown Merritt.
Peter Moyes and Fred Riley - along with their staff of 30 - are looking forward to the future and to making their customers' projects a success.
